Intro to Solana Attestations
The Solana Attestation Service (SAS) is a permissionless protocol, designed to enable the association of off-chain data with on-chain wallets through trusted attestations. These attestations serve as verifiable claims issued by trusted entities. The program provides a permissionless framework for issuers to create attestations, users to manage their credentials and applications to verify claims
Solana ID serves either as middle layer connecting trusted issuers with verifiers or as trusted issuer itself.
Applications are able to whitelist or decide which attestations they’re willing to render or use on the client/program side.
